Piort Gorka , born 1958 in Krakow, Poland. He started his artistic career during the studies

at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow as an art graphic, making graphic projects and

illustrations for many books. After graduating, he continued working as an illustrator, cooperating

with advertising agencies and publishing houses. He is an author of many book covers and

commercial posters. Towards the end of 1980s he gradually changed the character of his work,

turning to oil painting almost exclusively devoted to the history of aviation during WW II.

Piotr Gorka has presented his works at many exhibitions in Poland and Europe.

His paintings can be found in Polish diplomatic agencies, museums and in private collections

all over the world.

Within several years he has become a leading Polish aviation artist who, as the only one in

Poland, is editing his works in a form of artistic prints.

Many signatures, placed under his prints by Polish airmen are truly unique on the collector's

market. Considering the fact that since September 1939 Polish airmen continually were taking part

in all the important military actions and belonged to the exceptional group of people who always

showed their skills, a will to fight for the right cause and determined attitude, Peter Gorka's prints

become a very intresting offer on the aviation art market.

Such offer fills the gap which existed due to almost 60 years of Polish isolation from the possibility

of presenting the nation's history all over the world.

Many of the illustrated combat scenes are little known to the public and they give a unique

opportunity to discover the military history of aviation. Mr Gorka's offer is one of the most

interesting and original on the market today.
